Application Deadline: Friday, 10th April 2026 at 4:00PM.
***Works must not begin until after the date of the 'Letter of Offer' has been issued.***
About the scheme
The scheme aims to encourage local groups to implement projects that will result in greater social and economic activity. Projects should enhance the quality of citizens’ lives and lead to the sustainability of the local area.
The allocation of funds is at the discretion of the Elected Members and as such will be a “reserved function” of each specific Municipal District area. Members also reserve discretion over the specific proportion of the project costs to be funded. The total level of grant will be based on an annual allocation by Cavan County Council. Grants will not normally exceed €2,000 per project, per year.
What types of projects can be funded?
The following types of projects may qualify for grants (subject to available funding and meeting the conditions below).
· Provision of small-scale amenity projects.
· Provision of equipment.
· Community led projects involved in heritage and culturally based tourism.
· Assistance to community-based youth facilities, for example, materials etc.
· Tidy Towns/Residents Associations planting/painting projects.
Please ensure that you are familiar with the guidelines before you begin filling in the application. Every year there is huge interest in this scheme from the many community and voluntary groups across County Cavan. For this reason, we can only assess application forms that have been fully completed. Incomplete application forms will not be considered for funding.
You can save your application at any time (using the "Save and Quit" button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen) and continue it at a later date.
Any not-for-profit community or voluntary group can apply. Commercial organisations and individuals are not eligible for funding.
Applicants are encouraged to be a member of the Public Participation Network (PPN), which is a database of all the active community and voluntary, social inclusion and environmental organisations in your area. You will be requested to enter your PPN number as part of this application form. If you wish to register, details can be found
